Jane Levi, founder of Silphium Consulting Ltd, is the main consultant available to work on clients’ challenging short-term projects, as well as providing periodic advice on a longer-term basis.
In a more than twenty year career Jane Levi has developed strong expertise in all aspects of the European post trade environment. Her background is working on the logistics of front-to-back trade flow for investment banks and their clients, especially in the European post trade arena, applying six-sigma techniques to process improvement initiatives and to bridge the gap between technical requirements and strategic outcomes. Her experience in client and vendor management is underpinned by strong negotiation skills. Her strong grounding in practical experience is supported by exceptional communication skills, in writing and in person.
Prior to setting up Silphium, Jane was Director of Strategy and Market Structure at Merrill Lynch for two years, having held a similar post at Dresdner Kleinwort for the previous seven. She started her career at Reuters working on information delivery, and developed her specialism in strategy and policy through various business management and product roles at firms like the London Stock Exchange and Clearstream.
At various stages in her career Jane has served as a key member of various highly influential European industry committees, notably The European Central Bank (ECB’s) Advisory Group (AG) and Harmonisation Steering Group (HSG) for Target2Securities (T2S); Euroclear’s UK Market Advisory Committee (UK MAC); LCH.Clearnet’s User Consultative Group (UCG); and CESAME 2, a European Union expert group on clearing and settlement policy questions. She has both served as member of trade association committees at ESSF, LIBA and AFME, and as consulted as a staff member running post trade committees for the latter.
