Post Trade Clients

Silphium undertakes projects on behalf of a variety of clients either on an attributable or non-attributable basis, depending on client preference. Assignments may last for several years on a periodic basis; they may be short-term projects completed over a month or two; or they may be brief input delivered over a matter of days. In discussing any possible assignment, the focus is on making the best possible use of the client’s budget to deliver clearly defined objectives.

…for a London-based bank, working with a major consultancy firm
In 2017-18 Jane was a senior member of the project team working on development of the Brexit strategy, and subsequent implementation planning, for the capital markets/investment banking arm of the bank.

…for a Trade Association
Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME)
Over an extended period of part-time engagement Jane jointly managed the post-trade team (alongside industry veteran Werner Frey) as a managing director, taking particular responsibility for managing the Board and the Settlement Committee, as well as working closely with the Strategy and Clearing Committees. Key pieces of work during her period with AFME included the main pillars of the European Union’s post trade regulatory programme, notably EMIR (European Market Infrastructure Regulation); and CSD R (Central Securities Depositories Regulation). She also advised on elements of Short Selling Regulation, as well as CPSS-IOSCO’s consultation and published recommendations on Market Infrastructures.

…for a leading European Central Counterparty (CCP)
Jane undertook a short-term assignment with two key deliverables. She developed detailed  website content on key strategic topics for CCPs, in particular interoperability and the impact of regulation on CCP members and their clients. She also performed a detailed analysis of member, competitor and key stakeholder consultation responses to European Commission regulatory proposals, delivering a detailed report to senior management.

…for a leading European Central Securities Depository (CSD)
Using her experience as consumer and purchaser of agent bank services at an investment bank,  Jane assisted the CSD product team with an extremely detailed strategic information gathering exercise on all aspects of agent bank and custody services.
